Opposition Slams PM Modi’s ‘Infiltrators’ Remark

Opposition parties have launched scathing criticism against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his recent remarks during an election campaign in Rajasthan. PM Modi’s statement alleging that if Congress comes to power, it would distribute citizens’ property to “infiltrators” has sparked outrage among opposition leaders.

Sharp Criticism from Congress

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge condemned PM Modi’s speech as “panic-filled” and accused him of attempting to divert attention from pressing issues facing the nation. Kharge labeled Modi’s remarks as both a hate speech and a calculated strategy to mislead the public.

Allegations of Misrepresentation

The Congress further denounced PM Modi’s assertion, highlighting a discrepancy in his interpretation of former PM Manmohan Singh’s statement regarding resource allocation. Rahul Gandhi, former Congress chief, emphasized the prevailing issues of unemployment and inflation in the country, contrasting Modi’s assurances of stability.

Shiv Sena Joins the Criticism

Sanjay Raut of the Shiv Sena expressed disappointment over Modi’s choice of words, particularly his reference to sacred symbols like the ‘mangalsutra.’ Raut deemed such rhetoric as reflective of Modi’s electoral concerns and disconnectedness from grassroots realities.

Accusations of Diversionary Tactics

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi accused Modi of deliberately stoking communal sentiments to garner votes. Owaisi criticized Modi’s focus on Muslims, asserting that the real beneficiaries of his policies are wealthy elites rather than common citizens.

Congress’ Response

The Congress party retaliated by highlighting Modi’s alleged attempts to divert attention from substantive issues. Rahul Gandhi underscored the urgency of addressing unemployment and inflation, dismissing Modi’s reassurances as deceptive.

In summary, PM Modi’s remarks accusing the Congress of supporting “infiltrators” have drawn condemnation from various quarters. Opposition leaders have denounced Modi’s rhetoric as divisive and aimed at sidetracking from vital concerns like economic distress and social inequality. As the election fervor intensifies, the battle of words between the ruling party and its critics is set to escalate further.
