Amit Shah Asserts China Couldn’t Encroach a Single Inch of Land Under Modi Government, Highlights Assam’s Significance in Elections.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, addressing a vibrant poll rally in Assam’s Lakhimpur, vehemently refuted allegations of Chinese encroachment on Indian territory, emphasizing the robust stance taken by the Modi government. He categorically stated that China has been unable to annex even an inch of land under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Shah’s statement comes amid rising tensions between India and China, particularly in Ladakh region. The opposition, especially the Congress, has repeatedly criticized the government’s handling of the border situation. But Shah’s remarks are intended to show that the government stands firm against any perceived threat to India’s sovereignty.
Drawing attention to the measures taken by the BJP leadership, Shah stressed that the Indo-Bangladesh border would be fortified effectively and infiltration would be effectively prevented.
He juxtaposed this against the historical neglect faced by Assam during the 1962 Chinese aggression, alluding to Jawaharlal Nehru’s perceived apathy towards the region.
Moreover, Shah’s speech resonated with voters as he portrayed the Modi government as a turning point for Assam. He cites the signing of the peace accord and the initiation of various development projects and puts Modi at the forefront of the country’s development. Shah’s emphasis on Assam’s development highlights the region’s strategic importance in the electoral process, and reflects the government’s commitment to development and stability in the Northeast.
Apart from addressing border security and regional development, Shah took a swipe at the Congress, citing historical grievances and comparing it to the proactive approach of the Modi government.
He criticized Rahul Gandhi’s recent statement on preserving Assamese culture and reminded the audience of the turbulent past under previous regimes.
Shah also touched upon the controversial Ram Temple issue, saying the decision was due to the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Taking advantage of this important development, Shah sought to boost support for the BJP in Assam ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The timing of Shah holding rallies ahead of progressive elections in Assam underlines the importance the BJP has attached to the state. Lakhimpur’s central role in the electoral process makes Assam more prominent in shaping regional politics.
As Assam prepares to cast its vote in the upcoming elections, Shah’s rallying cry resonates with promises of development, security, and unwavering leadership under the Modi government. The electorate now faces the decision of charting the course for Assam’s future, with Shah’s words serving as a rallying call for a prosperous and resilient state under BJP leadership.
