High-Speed Crash Claims Life of 27-Year-Old Biker on Golf Course Road, Gurugram

In a tragic incident on Friday morning, a 27-year-old IIT Grad lost his life in a high-speed crash on Golf Course Road in Gurugram. Rituj Beniwal, a resident of Sushant Lok 1 in Sector 43, was riding his black Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10 when the accident occurred around 6:10 am. Police reports indicate that Beniwal lost control of his superbike, causing him to collide with a divider and a street light pole.

Details of the Accident

The impact of the crash was so severe that Beniwal’s body was severed in half, and his motorcycle broke apart. Investigators suspect that Beniwal was riding at a speed of around 130-140 km/h at the time of the accident. The accident took place approximately 200 meters away from the entrance to Belvedere Towers.

Victim’s Background

Rituj Beniwal, an IIT-Kanpur graduate, had been working with Gurugram-based Logic Fruit Technologies for the past three years. Described as a motorbike enthusiast, Beniwal often took his superbike for joyrides on weekends and holidays.

Virender Sharma, a security officer at a nearby condominium, heard the crash and dispatched a security team to the scene. Despite their prompt arrival, Beniwal had already succumbed to his injuries. Police investigations indicate that Beniwal was riding alone at the time of the accident.

Family’s Response

Beniwal’s family, based in Jaipur, does not suspect foul play in the incident and has not filed an FIR. They have identified him as the victim of the accident, and his body was handed over to them after an autopsy.

Captain Bobby Singh Sehgal, head of the Gurugram-based motorcycle club Riders of Storm Forever, emphasized the prevalence of speeding-related accidents among superbike riders. He highlighted the need for stricter regulations regarding superbike licensing in India.
