In a bid to foster academic brilliance and alleviate financial constraints, the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has announced a series of scholarships for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Financial Assistance and Academic Incentives at IIT Delhi

The newly introduced scholarships at IIT Delhi encompass various forms of financial assistance, ranging from fee reductions to direct monetary support credited to students’ bank accounts. This initiative not only eases the financial burden on students but also serves as a motivational catalyst for them to strive for academic excellence.

Eligibility Criteria Breakdown

IIT Delhi

For BTech and MSc Students:

  • Candidates must maintain a CGPA of 6 or higher.
  • Family income should not exceed Rs 4,50,000 per annum.
  • Eligible students may receive tuition fee waivers and a monthly stipend of Rs 1,000.
  • Additionally, 10% of students meeting the income criteria are entitled to a tuition waiver.

For MDes, MTech, and MS(R) Students:

  • Eligible for teaching and research assistantships worth Rs 12,400 per month.
  • Dual degree students in their fifth year with a CGPA of 8 or above are also eligible.

For PhD Students:

  • Teaching/research assistantships valued at Rs 31,000 per month for the first two years, and Rs 35,000 per month thereafter.
  • A travel grant of Rs 1,50,000 for conference attendance, along with a research excellence award.

Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarship Details

  • Undergraduate Scholarships: Merit cum means scholarships are available to students with a family income below Rs 4,50,000 per annum and a GPA of at least 6.
  • Postgraduate Scholarships:
  • MSc Programs: Scholarships are awarded based on the Joint Admission Test for MSc (JAM) rank at admission. Donor-supported scholarships cater to families with incomes between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 9 lakh per annum.
  • PhD Programs: Scholarships valued at Rs 50,000 per annum for two years are granted based on academic performance.
