The Mumbai cyber cell’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) has detained actor Sahil Khan from Chhattisgarh in connection with the Mahadev betting app case, following the rejection of his pre-arrest bail plea by the Bombay High Court.
Arrest and Investigation:
Khan was apprehended from Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, and subsequently brought to Mumbai for arrest. The SIT, formed to probe the alleged illegal transactions related to the Mahadev betting app, had previously questioned Khan. He is the second person to be arrested by the Mumbai police in this case.
Scale of the Scam:
The size of the scam, as per the FIR, is approximately Rs 15,000 crore. An investigation is underway against Khan and 31 others, involving scrutiny of their bank accounts, mobile phones, laptops, and technical equipment.

Chhattisgarh’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB)/Economic Offence Wing (EOW) recently arrested two individuals from New Delhi and Goa in connection with the Mahadev online gaming and betting application. Additionally, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested nine persons as part of its money laundering probe in this case.
