Shots Fired Outside Salman Khan’s Mumbai Residence: Police Launch Probe Amidst Heightened Security Concerns

In a startling turn of events, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan‘s residence in Mumbai became the scene of gunfire early Sunday morning as two unidentified individuals opened fire outside his home in the Bandra area, as reported by PTI. The incident, which occurred around 5 am, saw four rounds being fired outside the Galaxy Apartments where Khan resides. Mumbai Police and the Crime Branch swiftly launched an investigation into the matter, with forensic science experts also summoned to the site.

This alarming incident comes amidst heightened security concerns surrounding Salman Khan, dating back to November 2022 when his security detail was upgraded to Y-Plus following threats from gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. Khan was also granted a license to carry a personal weapon, and he recently acquired a new bulletproof vehicle.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, gunshots rang out once again outside Khan’s home, with Mumbai Police confirming the firing of five rounds by two individuals on a motorcycle. One bullet even struck the first floor of the building, raising serious safety concerns. The use of a foreign pistol in the firing only serves to intensify the ongoing investigation by law enforcement.

The threat to Salman Khan’s safety is not new, with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) identifying him as a top target on the hit list of Lawrence Bishnoi, stemming from Khan’s involvement in the infamous 1998 black buck hunting incident. Bishnoi’s plans were further revealed when his associate, Sampat Nehra, was apprehended by authorities after surveilling Khan’s residence in Bandra.

Reacting to the recent shooting, political figures like Anand Dubey of Shiv Sena (UBT) have raised concerns about the deteriorating law and order situation in Mumbai and Maharashtra. Dubey’s remarks underscore the urgent need for authorities to address the growing sense of insecurity among residents.

In March of the previous year, Mumbai Police had registered an FIR against Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar following a threatening email received by Khan’s office. This latest incident serves as a grim reminder of the persistent threats faced by high-profile figures like Salman Khan, prompting calls for enhanced security measures and swift action to ensure public safety.
